How many of you like Fermented Soya beans? Fermented Soya Beans locally known as Bekanthu has a strong powerful smell. It is similar to Japanese Nato. But the way we eat Bekanthu is different from the way Nato is eaten.. It may be an acquired taste because of its powerful smell and strong flavour. We make Bekanthu as Malta meh/ chutney or cooked with Meat or with Vegetables.
Today we will cooked with Pork.

Pork Ribs 1 kg
Soy Sauce half cup
Bekanthu (Fermented Soy Beans) 1/4 cup
Garlic 1 bulb (you can use less)
Ginger thumb size
Onions 1 medium size
Chili Powder 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Clean Pork with cold water. (~then put the pork inside a boiling water for 5 mins. Drain and wash the pork with running water again ~ optional)
Now roast the meat on both side till brown drain the excess oil (you can keep the oil for frying veggies or fried rice) and keep cooking, add tomato, chili powder, garlic, onions, ginger, when the spices blend well with the pork and the tomato softens, in a bowl mix half a cup of soya sauce, 1/4 cup of Fermented soya beans and pour in, (Add water if you want more gravy) adjust salt and cooked in slow fire till meat is cooked,
Delicious Pork with Bekanthu is ready!
Serve with steam rice!!
#if you are using dried fermented soya beans, soaked the beans for 20 mins or till the beans are puffy.
