Bawngsa meh (Beef curry)

Hello Everyone, what are you cooking today, Today i am cooking beef masala curry. It’s full of flavour and the tender beef will just melt in your mouth. If you love curry and enjoy cooking try this easy recipe and enjoy eating.


Beef (boneless 1kg)
Onions (2 large)
Garlic (1 pots)
Ginger (thumb size)
Tomato (2 large)
Turmeric powder (1tsp)
Chili Powder (1-2 tbsp)
Hing/Asafoetida (1tsp)
Meethi/fenugreek seeds (1tsp)
Bay leaf (2 large)
Black peppercorns (1tbsp)
Cumin seeds (1tbsp)
Coriander seeds (1tbsp)
Cardamom (2 piece)
Cinnamon (1 thumb size )
Star anise (1)
Cloves (3/4 piece)
cooking oil
Salt to taste

Clean the beef and cut it into cubes (or as desired) pat dry and set aside,

Chopped the onions, and tomato, then make paste the ginger and garlic.

Dry roast the Black pepper, Cumin, Coriander seeds, Cardamon, Cinnamon, Star anise, Bay leaf and Cloves till the aroma rises, and let it cool,

De seed the cardamon, and grind them (leaving the bay leaf) using mixer and set aside

Heat oil in a pan, and add the chopped onions, no need to let it brown add the meethi seeds, bay leaf then add the ginger and garlic paste, mix well after a min add the chili powder, turmeric powder and hing, then add the chopped tomato, mix well, when the tomato softens add the masala mix you made mix well then add the meat, and salt, mix well and cover the lid, cook in slow fire till meat is done, stir in between, the beef will ooze out its own juice, so its up to you if you want to add water or not (cup or two of water for gravy will be fine)

Garnished with Coriander!!!
